New Volunteer Tutors Needed for Thursday, April 6th

As the summer approaches, more of our seasonal volunteers are heading up North. UMCM needs more volunteers to come spend two hours a week working with local speakers of other languages. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for partnering with our newest neighbors to help them succeed in this community.
Here are the details:

Day: Thursday, 4/6/17
Time: 6:30pm to 8pm
Location: Hope Square Office 12945 Seminole Blvd. Building 2. Largo, Florida 33778

Can you imagine trying to fill a prescription at the pharmacy or opening a bank account without speaking English? How about trying to read road signs in Pinellas County when you've only used the Cyrillic alphabet?  Not knowing our language isolates our immigrant and refugee neighbors living in the Tampa Bay area. It creates barriers to assimilation, education, safety and opportunity!

Volunteer to help your neighbors learn English. You'll be joining a group of talented volunteer tutors and local students coming together weekly. It is more than teaching or learning English; it is building a stronger community together!

• ESL classes are held throughout the week at a variety of locations
• No experience necessary.
• Tutoring is one-on-one or in small groups.
• Students come from a variety of places, including Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, Central America and more.
• Speaking other languages is not required; we are English Immersion
• Plus, training is provided!
